The choice of yacht for your experience is very important to the success of your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter. It is the combination of the right yacht and the right crew that will guarantee a charter to remember.

Please contact us for a list of yachts currently available for the Monaco Grand Prix.
3. How many people are permitted to board the yacht?
This will depend on pre-agreed allowances by the owner or Captain. Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter attendees range from small families exclusively chartering the yacht up to large parties of 100+ – depending on the occasion.
Previously we have had high-net-worth clients stay aboard for the weekend and inviting 80+ guests to attend during the day.
4. Can we sleep on the Yacht?
Yes. This will of course depend on the number of cabins aboard. A typical 150ft Yacht will have accommodation for 10-12 guests.
If you are inviting day guests to Monaco we have very close connections with many Monaco Hotels – please book early to avoid disappointment.
5. Are there hidden extras – what will I REALLY end up paying?
The base Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter fee pays for the rental of the yacht and services of the crew for the duration of your charter. All other items, unless specifically itemised in the contract, are extra and will be billed at cost. This includes food, fuel, moorings (except for the home port), occasionally use of certain water toys and diving. The vast majority of our charters will use the “APA” system (see below), where an estimate of costs is included in the contract, with any remaining funds to be reimbursed at the end of the Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter.
6. What is the “APA”?
APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is the standard arrangement for paying your expenses on a luxury yacht charter. The APA essentially creates a bank account for the Captain of the yacht to provision on your behalf. A percentage is added on to the base charter fee, generally 25% to 30%, depending on the itinerary. The fee will be included with your final charter payment. The Captain will make all payments out of this account, and is obligated to keep all receipts and balance the account for you. You can review the expenditure level at any time with the Captain, and he will let you know if it’s getting low and needs to be replenished.
Any amounts not used will be refunded to you at the end of the Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter (and may be conveniently allocated for the tip). There are no mark ups on the APA – all of the expenses go to buying fuel, food, etc., and you can review every receipt if you wish. The APA system is a simple way of getting the yacht provisioned efficiently, with minimal hassle and straightforward record keeping.
7. What kind of quality control do you have on the yachts you propose – how do I know they will be in excellent condition?
First and foremost, all charter companies must adhere to the local maritime laws and regulations. This is your primary protection, and in most cases the rules are quite strict.
Most yachts of the Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter propose are MYBA yachts, meaning that they are managed by a strict set of standards in order to qualify as a MYBA yacht.
Beyond the above standards, we strive to propose yachts where we personally know the captain, crew and yacht.
8. What is MYBA?
MYBA – (originally called the Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association) is an industry body that provides contracts, standards and general help in assuring the quality and professionalism of the luxury yacht charter industry. Their purpose is described on their site:
“MYBA is a worldwide professional trade association founded in 1984 by a group of prominent yacht brokers with the aim of promoting standards of professionalism and ethics in the yachting industry throughout the Mediterranean, and ultimately, worldwide. Today, MYBA remains the only organization in Europe with this focus and enjoys international standing in all corners of the globe.”
MYBA has created an excellent contract used on most luxury yacht charters, with significant protections for you the charterer.
9. How do we get on & off the Yacht?
Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter is unique in that the yachts (120ft plus) are pulled back from their berths between the hours of 8am – 6pm during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend for safe reasons.
We have a number of pre-arranged pick-up locations during the event. Once met you will be escorted to your Tender (Speedboat) then taken to your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter
10. Can I bring children?
Of course, as all yachts are child-friendly, although the crew are always quite busy with their assigned duties and are not at liberty to offer childcare services. So if your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter party consists also children, you will be fully responsible for their safety, conduct and entertainment and no member of the crew shall be held responsible for their safety or entertainment.
Note the Monaco Grand Prix is a place where scantily-clad women and alcohol are plentiful – it is your choice to bring Children.
11. Can I bring my pet?
Yachts do not permit guests to bring pets on board for several reasons. Crew is required to maintain rigid cleanliness standards for all their guests and there is a potential of allergens from animals remaining on board. Animals are typically not accustomed to the strict confinement of a ship and an active cruising itinerary can be quite uncomfortable for pets. Just like humans, animals can also be sensitive to the effects of motion and may become disoriented or lethargic during a Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter
12. Do I need to carry my passport?
Yes, all guests must carry valid passports even in the case the charter will take place entirely within the jurisdiction of the country where you embark. Visas, if applicable, are the responsibility of the charterer and must be secured in advance of the charter.
Note this only applies to those wishing to take the yachts further afield following the Monaco Grand Prix
13. Who plans the menus?
Your personal chef will prepare the menu to meet your requests. We will be sending you a food preference sheet to fill in, so you let us know your favorite foods and beverages. Your chef will usually provide a sample menu for the Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter
14. What if I’m on a special diet?
It is critical that you take time to have each member of your party complete the preference form that you will be provided to you in advance. It is critical to know of any allergies or serious aversions in advance or your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter
15. Will I experience seasickness?
This situation is hard to predict. In fact you may be the best judge based on previous experience. If you are worried about seasickness check with your local pharmacist for special medication before you leave home. The Monaco harbor area is very sheltered so waters tend to be calm with little or no yacht movement.
16. Can we smoke on board?
For safety reasons, notably the prevention of fire, smoking is not permitted in the staterooms or cabins. Many yachts allow smoking in the salons and day areas, but an increasing number only allow smoking out on deck. If there are smokers in your party please tell your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter broker and be honest about your needs. Substances that are illegal on land are also illegal on the yacht.
17. Does the yacht have laundry facilities?
Almost all large yachts have full-equipped laundry facilities on board for the stewards to handle a large amount of linen and crew uniforms. Few yachts carry the guest’s laundry, however many crew are willing to take your laundry to the professionals ashore.
18. How do my friends, family and business colleagues reach me during the event?
Many vessels are equipped with the very latest communications equipment including cellular service, global satellite telecommunications, personal computers and fax machines.
19. Will my privacy be respected while on board?
Professional crews are experienced with entertaining the yacht’s owner and guest, celebrities and prominent statesmen. They are trained to be discreet and to give you as much privacy as you desire during your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter
20. I understand that a tip is expected? Can you clue me in on how and how much?
The crew’s gratuity is entirely a matter for your personal discretion, should you feel satisfied with the level of service received on board, a usual gratuity amount is of 10% of the charter fee. We recommend that any gratuity should be handed to the captain to distribute fairly amongst all members of the crew.
21. Do I need to buy insurance during the charter?
Your Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter agreement will detail insurance provisions: the yacht remains insured by the owner during your charter, however we recommend in some cases, that you purchase liability coverage to protect you and your guests, as well as personal effects from any unforeseen mishap.
22. What should I pack?
Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter is generally an informal and relaxed kind of event. For clothing bring bathing suits, cotton shorts, T-shirts, an extra sweater and long cotton pants for cool nights. Of course, you might also like to have the option for more formal attire for elegant dining and eveningwear. Rubber-sole shoes for a firm grip on slippery decks, to prevent foot injury and to protect the boat’s surface is always recommended. The crew appreciates soft luggage instead of bulky space-consuming suitcases since on board storage may be limited. For sun protection, do bring your favorite sun block or sunscreen, sunglasses with an anti-ultraviolet coating and a hat, turban or headscarf.
We look forward to planning your fully inclusive Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Charter
